Bharatheeya Medical & Sales Representative
Association (BMSRA) is an organisation of medical and sales representatives
working in different companies all over India. It is affiliated to Bharatheeya
Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), India's largest trade union. BMS was founded on 23rd July
1955. birth day of Loka Manya Balagangadhara Thilak, who has a unique place in
the history of the freedom movement.
Dhattopant Thengdiji is the founderer of BMS, with
the idea of Industrialise the nation, Nationalise the Labour, Labourise the Industry (Rashtra Udyogikaran, Sharamik ka Rashtriyakaran, Udyog ka Mazdoorikaran)
In 1967 BMS had 236902 members. After verifying
the membership of all major trade unions, Govt of India declared BMS as the
second largest labour union in India. In 1996 Central Govt. declared BMS as the largest trade union of India with a
membership of 3117324. BMS retained the first position in 2002. With more than
5000 affiliated trade unions BMS has it's membership above one crore. In most
of the labour, bipartiate, tripartiate and industrial committees BMS has
significant representation.
Being the largest trade union of india, BMS is
leading Indian labour delegation to International Labour Organisation at Geneva
every year on behalf of Indian labour force.
A handful of patriotic members who place
nationalism above anything in their hearts formed BMSRA at Kottayam district in
1989. At present this association has legitimate district committies in all the
14 districts of Kerala. BMSRA is affiliated to BMSRM (Bharatheeya Medical and Sales Representative Maha Sangh) which has a network in almost all states of
India.
BMSRA always stood for the job protection and privileges of field staff working in various pharmaceutical companies and
played a pivetal role in establishing minimum wages. BMSRA has developed a special forum through
which it is able to settle the issues of it's members with the respective
companies.
